Sales Manager - Business & Transient

Hyatt Regency Baytown offers an onsite Sales Manager role in Houston for Individual Travel, focusing on the transient market. You will build and maintain relationships to book guest rooms and Hyatt services through corporate accounts, travel agencies, individual travelers, and wholesale groups. This position emphasizes collaboration with hotel operations, use of Hyatt technology systems, and active participation in sales and event meetings. The role may involve travel within the market to major cities and provides development pathways through Hyatt corporate training programs.

Responsibilities

• Drive bookings of guest rooms and Hyatt services for transient market customers via corporate accounts, travel agencies, individual travelers, and wholesale groups
• Manage current accounts and nurture ongoing relationships
• Ensure comprehensive solicitation across all transient markets
• Travel to major cities within the market may be required
• Prepare and deliver effective proposals and presentations
• Maintain well organized documentation and reports
• Utilize Hyatt technology systems to support sales activities
• Coordinate customer service requirements with hotel operations staff as appropriate
• Participate in, and may lead, event meetings, sales meetings, and other staff gatherings
• Collaborate as a team member with the sales and catering staff and with the assigned Administrative Assistant and other support staff

Requirements

• A genuine desire to satisfy the needs of others in a fast paced environment
• Refined verbal and written communication skills
• 1-3 years of hotel sales or comparable experience preferred
• Proficient with general computer knowledge and tools, including hotelligence, rfp express, lanyon, and salesforce.com
• Prefer completion of a Hyatt Corporate Management Training Program or equivalent training
• Prefer training in selling, negotiating, business writing and presentation skills
• Community involvement and/or professional association participation is highly regarded
