Job Description

Oversees Albany, Glens Falls, and Rutland markets and a Vermont Local Sales Manager, shaping strategies to grow local, national, non-traditional, and interactive revenue while guiding the sales team.

Responsibilities

  • Lead recruitment, onboarding, motivation, coaching, and performance reviews for the sales staff.
  • Hold regular meetings with the sales team to align goals and progress.
  • Adapt to changing conditions and support organizational transformation and vision.
  • Manage personnel functions including interviewing, hiring, evaluating performance, recognizing accomplishments, and terminations.
  • Communicate management policies and procedures to staff and ensure understanding and adherence.
  • Review and approve compensation plans for all employees.
  • Ensure staff have opportunities to earn their livelihood through training, feedback, and effective leadership.
  • Develop, implement, and communicate sales strategies and action plans.
  • Oversee sales team efforts by reviewing proposals and client negotiations.
  • Sell advertising space for the station.
  • Meet or exceed goals and budgets set by the Vice President of Sales.
  • Approve all station sales promotions.
  • Attend client functions that involve the station.
  • Schedule sales calls and submit activity reports.
  • Study and understand the station's market and opportunities.
  • Review programming for best sales opportunities.
  • Process client signed orders accurately and ensure ads air as requested.
  • Ensure timely and proper handling of client payments.
  • Initiate contact with at least 10 new clients per week.
  • Follow up with clients within 30 days to confirm satisfaction with services.
  • Explore avenues to expand the client base and acquire new clients.
  • Attend weekly sales meetings with department heads.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in marketing or related field.
  • Three to five years of prior sales experience.
  • One to three years of supervisory experience.
  • Minimum experience of 1 year.
  • Detail oriented with a focus on accuracy and accountability.
  • Ability to work well with little direction.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and computer skills.
  • Reliable form of transportation.

Salary

  • Salary range: $80,000 to $100,000 per year

Pay

  • Pay: $80,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
