Job Description
The Business Development Representative role at KCH Transportation is an onsite position based in Chattanooga, Tennessee. The role focuses on designing and delivering flexible, scalable freight solutions for mid-sized companies, managing complex sales cycles, and coordinating with operations to onboard and retain customers.
Responsibilities
- Target mid-sized enterprises facing advanced supply chain challenges and higher freight volumes
- Develop adaptable multimodal brokerage offerings aligned with each client’s shipping profile and business goals
- Drive the full sales cycle from discovery through service presentations and initial proposals or quotes
- Collaborate with operations and account teams to ensure successful onboarding and sustained service excellence
- Maintain comprehensive CRM records, tracking pipeline progress and account activity
- Monitor logistics trends and client needs to support retention and growth initiatives
Requirements
- Proven success in B2B sales with experience managing moderately complex sales cycles
- Strong interpersonal skills to influence logistics stakeholders and mid-level decision-makers
- Consultative selling approach capable of identifying challenges and delivering tailored freight brokerage solutions
- Strategic thinker who balances short-term wins with long-term relationship development
- Effective communicator with reliable follow-through and meticulous attention to detail
- Comfortable collaborating across departments
- Results-oriented and proactive in identifying growth opportunities within target accounts
