Job Description

Senior business development leader at Syneos Health Consulting overseeing strategic account expansion, go-to-market planning, and revenue growth across advisory groups.

Responsibilities

  • Design and optimize the end-to-end sales lifecycle from lead capture through close, ensuring alignment with prioritized consulting capabilities and target accounts.
  • Cultivate and sustain relationships with key account stakeholders, securing meetings to introduce and advance opportunities across strategic accounts.
  • Collaborate with delivery leaders to identify targets, sharpen account plans, tailor offerings to market dynamics, craft pursuit strategies, assist with proposals, and back conference participation including prep and follow-up.
  • Serve as the primary conduit linking advisory groups to client needs and relationships.
  • Coordinate conference participation with targeted outreach and attendee preparation to maximize client engagement.
  • Proactively and collaboratively expand footprint within strategic accounts.
  • Partner with marketing and delivery teams to develop sales collateral, pitch decks, and case studies.

Requirements

  • Fifteen or more years of experience, ideally spanning sales, account management, sales operations, and relationship-building in a consulting or biopharma services setting.
  • In-depth knowledge of the biopharma sector, including client organization structure and functions, pipeline dynamics, in-line processes, and competitive landscape to identify opportunity levers.
  • Demonstrated success in establishing or scaling a sales function, ideally as a first hire or early-stage leader.
  • Strong analytics capabilities with experience using CRM platforms such as Salesforce, pipeline analytics, and sales forecasting.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence senior leadership.
  • Bachelor's degree required; an MBA or other advanced degree is preferred.

Cross Functional Collaboration

  • Act as the connective tissue among sales, marketing, delivery, and finance to streamline growth initiatives and execution.
  • Model best practices in client targeting, opportunity qualification, and account planning, engaging stakeholders across Syneos Clinical and other parts of the commercial platform.
  • Collaborate with lead generation to cast a wide net, qualify and advance opportunities.
  • Partner with core capabilities leads to bring high impact offerings to market.

Forecasting and Reporting

  • Monitor and report sales performance by strategic account, delivering insights to leadership for ongoing improvement.
  • Develop and maintain sales operations infrastructure, including Salesforce campaigns, data hygiene, reporting dashboards, account dashboards, and sales enablement tools.
  • Create and manage sales forecasting, revenue reporting, awards tracking, pipeline health metrics, and performance KPIs to improve visibility and consistency in forecasting, conversion and growth.
