The role of Business Development Manager - Strategic Capital Projects is an onsite position based in Burlington, MA. It drives strategic growth across the Americas by identifying, shaping, and advancing opportunities tied to large capital programs and high-value strategic accounts, while positioning MilliporeSigma's Process Solutions portfolio to support major customer expansion, modernization, and network investment plans with early visibility into customer investment timelines.
Responsibilities
- Lead business development efforts focused on strategic capital projects and high-value strategic accounts to broaden early engagement, deepen visibility into customer investment plans, and strengthen MilliporeSigma's position in complex growth opportunities across the region.
- Collaborate with commercial teams to design and execute go-to-market plans and business development tactics aligned to capital project pipelines and regional account priorities.
- Identify, map, and maintain visibility into priority strategic capital projects, account directions, and stakeholder networks throughout the designated region.
- Foster strong cross-functional relationships with key commercial stakeholders, including Regional Account Management, GSA Directors, Franchise Teams, and Operations Leaders.
- Coordinate engagement among GSA account teams, project stakeholders, and Americas Process Solutions regional commercial groups to ensure aligned opportunity development and execution.
- Serve as an escalation point during pre-sales and post-sales activities for priority strategic capital project opportunities when required.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Biochemical Engineering, Engineering, Computer Science, or another relevant technical discipline.
- Seven or more years of relevant industry experience, or an equivalent combination of advanced education and certifications with demonstrated technical expertise.
- Knowledge of regulatory requirements for Capital Equipment in cGMP manufacturing environments.
- Ability to interpret RFQs, P&IDs, and detailed engineering or design documents.
- Experience in business development, strategic account development, capital project sales, or market development within life sciences and biopharma.
- Experience supporting large capital investments, complex project pursuits, or consultative solution development.
- Proven success operating in cross-functional and matrixed organizational structures.
